Because Summer Deserves a New Wardrobe...

So I admit, I have been holding out. I do have another favorite shop at Hilldale that I have yet to write about. Those of you who have not yet been to Anthropologie need to get in the car immediately and make your way to this boho-chic wonderland. One step into this clothing store is all it will take for you to fall in love. Bright colors and cheerful music make you instantly happier...and that's before you have even begun looking at the wide array of flouncy sundresses and delicately detailed tops Anthropologie carries.

A wide variety of clothing styles and options, makes this store the perfect one stop shop for summer. There is something for everyone, from the fashion daring to those looking for some simple basics. I recommend stocking up on cotton halter dresses in bright prints and well-tailored capri pants, two summer wardrobe basics they carry in many different colors and shapes. I scooped up this blue geometric print dress and floral cotton corset, both of which I love!

However, clothing is not the only reason to stop into Anthropologie. Scented candles, beautiful bedding and 50's style housewife aprons are just a few of the many other items that can also be found. So whether you're looking for an outfit to carry you through this summer's wedding circuit or the perfect gift for your BFF's birthday, Anthropologie has got the goods.

Gone North

As I have mentioned before, I am a self-proclaimed girly girl. So after moving to Madison, I tried to ignore one trend that was everywhere on campus...The North Face jacket. To me, these dark colored, streamline zip-ups were no match for my canary yellow peacoat with toggle buttons. However, after wearing a friend's North Face jacket while watching one particularly cold outdoor soccer game, I realized why the line was so popular...I was warm. A practical trend in Wisconsin, North Face products combine durability and warmth with designs, that even I must admit, are stylish for sportswear. However, when I went to purchase one last spring, I was surprised to discover The North Face store did not have a Madison location. How was this possible, when half the University of Wisconsin campus could be the company's spokesmodels? After searching many sportswear stores for the right size, style and color, I was finally forced to order online and wait for my jacket to be delivered. A frustrated shopper no more, I am happy to announce The North Face store has since opened a location right here at Hilldale. Now those looking to slip into one of their functional, sporty jackets for spring can do so at their own convenience.

Finding My Fashion Mecca

Yesterday I wandered into the back room of Woldenberg's for the first time. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. As a self proclaimed girly girl with a weakness for dresses, this backroom was officially my fashion Mecca. One dress in particular stood out among the rest. This pink chiffon dress by Carlos Miele has officially topped my retail wish list. With it's delicate princess cut and hem that falls perfectly above the knee, this dress makes me want to call up five of my closest girl friends for a night of cocktails and frivolity.
